Bicycle tools that hide in the handlebars
June 7, 2012
With the theft of bike accessories an increasing problem for cyclists, what better place to store a multi tool than hidden away inside the handlebars?
Despite its diminutive size, the InCOG design holds ten tools including Philips, torx and hex bits. If needed, the tool’s attachments can be tailored to best suit an individual bike by replacing them at any hardware shop.
The design is particularly clever because it flexes to fit inside almost any shape of handlebar.
The exposed end-cap, which gives little clue as to what it hides, is designed with a tamper-resistant friction lock & custom key design.
How can I get a handlebar multitool?
Ideacious.com allows you to shop like you would at any other website, or you can buy products – like the InCOG multitool – before they’re made.
When you place a refundable deposit on an item that is not yet for sale, you do your part in bringing exciting awesome products into being, and as an early bird ‘investor’ you can earn commission if the design goes on to sell well – it’s like playing Dragon’s Den, but without the financial risk.
In the case of $60 (around £40) InCOG multitool, if enough people place a refundable deposit of $5 it will go into production.
