What better way to guarantee clean gym gear than the Bike Washing Machine?

Rather than spinning a heavy flywheel, pedalling the Bike Washing Machine operates a drum full of your dirty washing. The bike also generates electricity, with any left over being used to power the bike’s display screen or stored for future use.
The project is the brainchild of students at Dalian Nationalities University in Liaoning, China.
If you need a little extra boost of energy before the Bike Washing Machine spin cycle, how about an espresso at the Velopresso? The pedal-powered mobile coffee bar trike cannot grind a bean until the barista sets a pace. The British-built Velopresso is pitched as an 'efficient, robust and humanised machine' perfect for city streets and piazzas.
During the development of the trike, the designers discovered that pedalling was not an option for generating heat directly or producing sufficient electricity for an espresso machine’s standard 3kW electrical heating element, so they instead installed a gas burner that uses LPG. Every other operation is pedal-powered, an 'off-grid' capability that offers the promise of coffee at the most remote of cycle ride stops.
