The Kisha umbrella is a high-tech take on the traditional brolly that predicts rain and let's you know if you are about to leave it on the bus.

The umbrella is standard issue for any trip – a design so beautiful in its simplicity that has remained largely unchanged for thousands of years. But with over 30m umbrellas sold each year in America alone, it has become another symbol of our throwaway society. On an average day, the lost property office at Transport for London stores 12,000 waiting to be reunited with their owners. At £49 the Kisha may cost ten times the amount of a basic brolly, but it an umbrella is designed to last. A corrosion-proof design with strong stitching and a robust mechanism means it will brave blustery showers and smart technology means it’s almost impossible to leave it on the bus.
