A new skateboard and buggy hybrid concept promises a quick and green way to get about with kids.

For the first time in history, more than half the world’s population lives in urban areas. And for many of these urbanites, the arrival of a baby often heralds the buying of a car – even though they may be well-served by public transport. So the more child-friendly sustainable modes of transport on the market, the better.

The Longboard Stroller concept, which combines a standard longboard deck and the seat section of a Quinny stroller, is more compact, lightweight and rapid than a conventional buggy.

It seems likely the skateboard stroller is a product design-led PR campaign to drum up interest in buggy manufacturer, Quinny, but that doesn't make it any less of an enchanting take on sustainable transport for city dwellers and their kids.

The longboard stroller is pitched as an alternative solution that makes it easy to travel longer distances in a ‘nice, environmentally-friendly way’.
