Men with big cars fail to impress
October 4, 2013
Conventional wisdom has it that an expensive sports car represents an extension of virility.
However, much to the consternation of Porsche and Ferrari dealerships, and men of a certain age, the length and breadth of the land, a new survey suggests the opposite may be true.
Almost half of men questioned in the motoring website poll felt that an expensive car made them appear sexier, but a similar proportion of women said it made men seem ‘arrogant, self-centred and dangerous’ on the road.’
Cars perceived as environmentally friendly fared much better in making the driver appealing, and relatively modest cars such as the Ford Mondeo were associated with a good work ethic.
