A caravan so small it can be towed behind a mobility scooter or bicycle has been taken for a spin (and crashed) by comedian Paul Merton as part of his documentary series on British Holidays. Watch the episode

This week’s episode of Paul Merton’s Holidays, which airs at 22:00 on Wednesday 9th November, focuses on caravanning and will show the tiny QTvan can be seen being towed inside a supermarket. The Environmental Transport Association (ETA) developed the QTvan to highlight the need for mobility scooter breakdown cover and has since received sales enquiries from around world.

Greenest caravan can be towed by a bicycle

Paul Merton tows world’s smallest caravan

The QTvan is the world’s least-polluting caravan to tow. Using a conventional caravan for a ‘staycation’ within Britain remains a relatively green way of taking a holiday, but if the electricity used to charge the mobility scooter is bought from a green provider, the QTvan is entirely carbon neutral.

Caravanners who want an even more environmentally-friendly holiday have the option of towing the caravan with a bicycle
