Picnics by bicycle: The countdown starts now
March 30, 2023
We know we're jumping the gun, but a fleeting glimpse of sunshine this week had us daydreaming of picnics by bicycle. British weather is so capricious, it pays to be ready to picnic at a moment's notice. That's why we're giving away a picnic pannier well in advance of the al fresco dining season.
This retro style bicycle pannier from Goodordering boasts 18.5 litres of insulated picnic storage, a padded internal laptop compartment and a sling to carry it on your shoulder.

Jacqui Ma started her firm Goodordering to design a range of bags for urban cycling families and continues to run things from a flat on top of a bike shop in Hackney, East London. Her range of bags includes cycling bags, nappy change bags and toddler bags as well as school bags.
The first range was inspired by Japanese school bags and 80s retro travel bags. 70s and 80s references also give the bags a touch of nostalgia. The bags all have multiple pockets, extra padded straps and are water-resistant and hardwearing.
In case you’re wondering where the brand name comes from, Jacqui explains that ‘good ordering’ derives from the joy and satisfaction of ordering well at a restaurant. “Our family often went out for meals together and after a very satisfying meal, we would all call out ‘Good ordering!’ to mum.”
Win a bicycle picnic bag
We have a Goodordering picnic bag to give away. To be in with a chance of winning the bag, leave us a comment at the bottom of the page and let us know what you'd pack for your picnic.
Please note the clips that attach this bag to your pannier rack ideally suit 8mm tubes. The clips do not fit the wider tubes normally found on retro style pannier racks. The distance between attachment hooks from centre to centre is 22 cm.
