Rail company launches noisy carriages for famillies
May 7, 2009
The French rail operator, SNCF has launched family-only carriages on two TGV lines between Paris and Marseille and Paris and Montpellier.
The service will include entertainment provided by Disneyland Paris and carte blanche for passengers to scream and shout as much as they like.
At the launch of TGV Family, President of the SNCF, Guillaume Pepy, said: “The idea is that for summer holidays, it is important to find new ways of travelling for families. That way, everyone can make as much noise as they like.”
A spokesperson the Environmental Transport Association (ETA) said; “This could lead to similar, if quieter, initiatives for other types of passenger.”
