Skyscraper cycling

A shortage of space and a paucity of good-quality cycling facilities are problems that face many large cities, but rarely can they be solved by a single piece of design.
Swiss architectural practice Bureau A has transformed a tricycle into a mobile seven-floor building that it has little need for the refuge from traffic offered by segregated cycle lanes - it is so remarkable looking that motorists give it a wide berth wherever it goes.

The incredible trike was created on behalf of Tadioto, a bar and cultural centre that will use the structure as a vertical street-food restaurant and exhibition space.

The high-rise cycle is exceptionally tall, but It is not unusual to see trikes around the world being used in creative ways. The Tricycle House is the perfect fusion of the bicycle and mobile home; a pedal-powered recreational vehicle (RV) that boasts a bed, sink and even its own bath.
The plastic bodywork can expand like an accordion to create more space and is translucent so that the interior can be lit by the sun during the day or street lamps at night.
The Tricycle House might be small, but it boasts a sink and stove, bath, water tank, and furniture that can transform from a bed to a dining table and bench. The sink, stove, and bathtub are collapsible and stow away at one end of the tiny home.
