Turn your bike into a pannier pack pony
September 21, 2022
Backpacks seem to be the default way to carry stuff when cycling here in the UK, but it's a recipe for a sweaty back and sore shoulders if you're going any kind of distance. If you want to be more comfortable on your bike and keep your cargo dry, far better to fit a set of panniers.
There are panniers to suit every budget - some are even free. German designers Philipp Moherndl and Matthias Lechner claim their Packtasche panniers can safely carry 12 kg of shopping and can be used numerous times before being recycled. The cardboard panniers were designed to be offered by supermarkets to their cycling customers.
